I talk with music people and writers from all over the world who want to know how they can make the Internet work for them. I've tried to answer as many of their questions as possible because I understand their confusion. I always explained that I work with companies, not individuals, because of the scale of what I do.
Many of these artists follow up on what I tell them and then come back and want to know what to do next. They always want to know if I will make an exception and work directly with them.
I finally sat down and worked out a program that meets the needs of individual artists. The first are signed on and we are developing their campaigns now.
The difficult part was understanding how to keep the upfront costs low for the individual. I got that worked out and we pick up individuals and work with them comprehensively for as little as $50.00 per month. What makes it possible is the concept of setting them up individually but also using the leverage of all of their campaigns to make all of them more visible.
One of the studio engineers asks me every day about doing some kind of advertising, which we will do - but I keep telling him that so far, everyone who has wanted to work with me is finding out that I have the new program so my big challenge at the moment is to get them signed on and set up.
I'm excited about our Viral Marketing project for individual artists - I know that we will represent a lot of Really Great New Talent - new to the public that is - and we are going to break an amazing number of them entirely through the Internet where they will become big stars!
